6 × 30’ | Comedy–Drama | South East London
A sharp, bittersweet comedy-drama for cynics who distrust rom-coms… but still believe in love.
&Ampersand is an off-brand romantic comedy about grief, missed connections, and the slow, awkward work of emotional readiness.
Dan, newly unmoored by his mother’s death, and Daisy, a hospice nurse carrying her own long-buried grief, orbit each other through South East London — brushing past in a series of near-misses, emotional echoes, and subverted rom-com setups: dropped bags, missed trains, blind dates that go wrong, weddings that aren’t theirs.
This isn’t destiny. It’s repetition.
As Dan struggles to hold life together for himself and his teenage brother, and Daisy begins the quieter work of rebuilding after a messy break-up, their worlds start to overlap — not through grand gestures, but through ordinary moments and small almosts.
When the past finally catches up with them, one very literal crash forces them to look directly at each other, and at the possibility of choosing connection.
&Ampersand is a love story that believes romance doesn't always arrive on time or fully formed. It turns up sideways, a bit late — and only works if you’re willing to meet someone else’s imperfect life halfway.
